TrioTAB Tablet

The TrioTAB cashier tablet was created by Posnet for the purpose of building modern sales stations operating in the Android environment.
TrioTAB is an extension of the Posnet Trio fiscal printer, which, when equipped with the TrioGRIP holder, turns into a stable tablet base.
The holder supplies power to the tablet, ensures communication with the printer, and connects the tablet to an additional USB port located on the side of the printer.
With the TrioGRIP, the Trio printer also gains a 6V drawer port.

TrioTAB Tablet

Big possibilities - compact size

The combination of an industrial tablet and a Trio fiscal printer creates a compact yet fully functional point of sale. This space-saving solution is especially appreciated in retail outlets with limited space, such as small restaurants, small shops, service points, retail islands, and so on.
Importantly, the small size of the set does not entail any functional limitations! The seller has at their disposal: a fiscal printer using 30 m long paper, a 10.1" capacitive touchscreen, a 2D barcode scanner, standard USB ports for connecting additional devices (e.g., payment terminal, scale), a built-in NFC module (optional), a 6V drawer port, etc.

Be closer to the customer

In response to current market needs, the TrioTAB project provides the Seller with very high operational mobility.
At any time, you can quickly detach the TrioTAB tablet from the holder and serve customers outside the sales area. For example, at a restaurant table (e.g., in an outdoor patio), directly on display in a store, or in the corridor of a shopping mall.
Returning to stationary mode is just as easy - simply return the tablet to the holder and it will once again become a stationary sales station.

The TrioGRIP holder that attaches the tablet to the printer has a magnetic lock, so you can quickly remove and replace the tablet from the holder.
The Trio printer with WIFI* wireless communication can print receipts and payment transaction confirmations even when the tablet is out of the holder.
The tablet's built-in barcode scanner enables instant identification of goods, and the tablet's built-in NFC communication module (optional)** allows for electronic payments using a softPOS payment terminal.

* Trio printers factory-integrated with TrioGRIP holders are equipped with Wi-Fi modules at the manufacturing stage. Wireless connectivity availability in other Trio printer versions depends on the specific printer variant.
** NFC access on your tablet is an optional service. To activate the service, please contact your retailer.

No wiring

The TrioGRIP holder is an active holder, which means that it not only holds the tablet in place, but also supplies it with power and connects additional USB interfaces.
The shrapnel-type modular connector used in the holder automatically creates a connection when the tablet is inserted into the holder.
Eliminating cabling means users don't need to connect any cables to the tablet. As a result, this solution also solves the problem of cable failure, worn-out sockets, and so on.

Popular interfaces

The tablet is equipped with a standard USB 2.0 port located on the back wall, but when you insert the tablet into the TrioGRIP holder, you gain an additional USB 2.0 port (Type A socket) located on the side wall of the Trio printer.
Payment terminals, scales, mass storage, specialized handheld scanners, etc. can be connected to the ports.
The TrioGRIP holder expander located at the bottom of the printer provides a Posnet 6V drawer port.
If you need to power the tablet outside the holder, the device is equipped with an additional power socket compliant with the USB-C standard (this socket is intended solely for powering the tablet).
The device also includes an NFC communication module, which Posnet offers as an optional service. The module can be used, for example, to process electronic payments using software payment terminals (softPOS).

Built-in 2D scanner

The tablet's built-in 2D scanner instantly reads all popular barcodes currently available on the market. The scanner's effective range is 9 to 28 cm.
Using the Posnet Manager software available in the tablet, the user can configure the scanner in such a way that, depending on whether the tablet is in the holder or not, code reading is performed automatically or is triggered manually.
After configuring the scanner in the program, the operating mode will be switched automatically (the tablet detects whether it is in a holder or working mobile).
The scanner trigger (used during mobile work) is located in an easily accessible place on the back of the device (under the index finger).

Android 14 open source operating system

TrioTAB is equipped with the open Android 14 operating system based on the AOSP project. The environment has been optimized by Posnet for use at a checkout.
You can install your own applications in the system using installation files (APK), or use repositories available on the Internet.
For the purposes of configuring and updating the tablet, Posnet has created proprietary Posnet Manager software that allows you to configure the scanner, manage the NFC module (optional), and update the system, among other things.
Posnet Manager is factory-installed on each device.

Easy to repair

The TrioTAB's mechanical design allows for complete repairability. Screws are used in the housing instead of the popular snap-lock or one-time adhesive connections. Individual tablet components (screen, battery, scanner, motherboard, etc.) can be repaired or replaced if damaged or worn.

The tablet's production uses components that are also used in other Posnet projects. This strategy extends the availability of spare parts and reduces their cost.
